Governance

The SPARC Data and Resource Center (DRC) was formed to facilitate aggregation, standardization, and integration of all data generated through the program and to develop an integrated ecosystem to bring data and users together. The four cores of the DRC are funded independently to support the program with specific resources, workflows, and/or infrastructure.

This distributed model allows the SPARC project to bring together specialized, pre-existing technologies capitalizing on the unique strengths of each team. The SPARC Portal is the front end of this data ecosystem backed by a robust cloud-based data platform (DAT-Core), a set of 2D and 3D maps of PNS connectivity and associated spatial mapping tools (MAP-Core), the o2S2PARC simulation and data analysis platform (SIM-Core) and a standards-based curation pipeline and metadata index that powers search, computational models, simulations and tools (K-Core). However, the distributed nature required establishing a governance structure and processes that facilitate decision making and collaboration.

This document describes the current governance for the SPARC DRC.
