Data & Models

Publicly available datasets on the SPARC Portal

Whether it's a dataset or a model, it's curated and published on the SPARC Portal under Data & Models with a corresponding DOI, license, and landing page. Learn how to Navigate SPARC datasets and each of the four dataset categories that can be published through the SPARC portal:

Datasets

Research datasets comprise multi-modal experimental and derived data files organized according to a standardized folder structure, file naming and metadata scheme (the SPARC Dataset Structure) and accompanied by an experimental protocol stored in the SPARC workspace at protocols.io

Anatomical Models

Anatomical Models (organ scaffolds) are generalized 3D multi-species whole-body or organ models used for spatial mapping of datasets and samples to a common coordinate framework to compare across species and/or subjects

Computational Models

Computational models comprise advanced data analyses and simulations, e.g., of neural interfaces and physiological responses to support the investigation, optimization, and safety assessment of novel devices and therapies; they are executable through the o2S2PARC platform and, in some cases, directly on the Portal

Devices: COMING SOON!

The SPARC portal supports DOI registration and landing pages for projects that are using GitHub as the primary versioning and distribution mechanism. Use cases include source code for algorithms, device specification documents, and open-source tools and applications within the scope of the SPARC. Publishing GitHub repository releases allows users to release code on GitHub and turn this into citable entities for publication with a DOI and a dedicated landing page within the SPARC Portal and integration in the knowledge graph enabling exploration and discovery. This functionality was added to the SPARC portal in response to user demand and to further the notion of integration between data, experimental protocols and analysis code.
