# MAP Synthesis (MAP-Core)

The SPARC Program core responsible for visualizations of nerve-organ anatomy and function

### Introduction

The <Glossary>SPARC</Glossary> Map Synthesis Core (MAP-Core) is one of the four cores comprising the [SPARC Data and Resource Center](https://docs.sparc.science/docs/drc), responsible for building interactive, modular, continually updated visualizations of nerve-organ anatomy and function. It is led by the <a href="https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/abi.html" target="_blank">Auckland Bioengineering Institute</a> working with <a href="https://www.mbfbioscience.com/" target="blank">MBF Bioscience</a>.
